MALLORY IGNITION .mallory ignition 1 IMPORTANT Before installing the UNILITE® Distributor, make sure that your vehicle is equipped with an ignition ballast resistor (or loom resistance wire) in the wire between the ignition switch and the coil ( ) terminal. Check a service manual for your vehicle to
Mallory. While you may know Mallory as a top ignition products maker for street and high performance race appliations, they also build top quality fuel system components as well. The Mallory product line is made to perform for you and be consistent. You can be sure that if you buy Mallory ignition or fuel products, you've bought the best!
After 1925, all of his patents were under the name Mallory Electric Corporation. Mallory has patents on items such as electrical systems, shock absorbers, internal combustion engines, ignition coils, ignition timers, ignition systems, governors, air inlet devices, carburetors, and even children’s toy race tracks to name a few.
Use Mallory's coil for electronic ignition. You DO need an external ballast resistor, be it a ceramic edition or the proper resistor wire. If you do NOT use that, you will harm the internals of the distributor.
Strip 1 2 inch of insulation from the end of the wire and crimp on a ring terminal. Connect it to the ignition terminal of the ignition switch. Route the other end of the wire to one terminal of the ballast resistor. Cut the wire, strip 1 2 inch of insulation and crimp on a terminal. Connect to the ballast resistor.
